BRANDING THE BCD WEB
As you no doubt know by now, the A&M Health Science Center administation has initiated an institution-wide branding campaign for HSC and for all the HSC components. This includes the top-level HSC Web site, and all component Web sites. It therefore includes BCD. In short, the look and feel of the BCD Web site will be changing significantly in the near future to reflect the branding of the entire HSC and the component Webs.
"Branding" is a term referring to consistency in overall look, feel and functionality of an institutional Web site. Although BCD will remain unique in its online information and service, over the next few weeks the BCD Web site will be transitioned in order to reflect the overall branding scheme adopted by the HSC at large. The BCD Office of Communications, Web Services will be overseeing the rollout of the branding on the BCD Web site.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT ON THE BCD WEB
A further major change will also occur on the BCD Web site, and that is the addition of an enterprise-wide Content Management System (CMS). This will occur seperately from the branding of the site, but may overlap in certain important areas.
